Wood is a living material. Its grain, colour and character vary from piece to piece, making every handmade object unique.

Local and European woods

GretaOto Design works with local and European species, including European walnut and other woods selected according to availability and the needs of each design. The exact species, tone and finish are described on the individual product page where known. Natural variation is not a manufacturing defect.

Everyday wooden objects

Dust with a soft, dry cloth. If needed, use a barely damp cloth and dry immediately. Keep wood away from prolonged moisture, radiators, direct heat and strong sunlight. Do not use abrasive cleaners or place wooden desk organisers in a dishwasher.

Cutting boards

Wash by hand promptly with mild soap and warm water, then dry upright. Do not soak or machine wash. Food-contact use and care can depend on the finish shown in the product description; contact us if you need confirmation for a particular board.

Engraved and personalised pieces

Clean gently without scrubbing the engraving. Screen colours and photographs can only approximate natural wood tones. Ask us before ordering if matching a particular shade is essential.
